Anand Marks Birsa Munda’s 150th Jayanti with Grand District Celebration


A district-level celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda was held at the Sardar Patel Auditorium of Amul Dairy in Anand, graced by the presence of Shri Ramanbhai Solanki, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, and Anand District In-charge Minister Shri Sanjaysinh Mahida. Senior district officials and dignitaries also attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Shri Ramanbhai Solanki paid heartfelt tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He stated that the Central and State Governments are commemorating his 150th birth anniversary to raise public awareness about his contributions to India’s freedom movement and his efforts to preserve the culture and identity of the tribal community.

Anand District In-charge Minister Shri Sanjaysinh Mahida highlighted that the Central Government has declared the period from 15 November 2024 to 15 November 2025 as Tribal Pride Year. He further noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, the State Government has organized two special Tribal Pride Rath Yatras—from Ambaji to Ekta Nagar and from Umargam to Ekta Nagar—covering 1,378 km across 14 tribal regions from 7 to 13 November.

The event was graced by the presence of MP Shri Miteshbhai Patel, district leader Shri Sanjaybhai Patel, former Chairman of Amul Dairy Shri Vipul Patel, Vice Chairman Shri Kantibhai Sodha Parmar, District Collector Shri Praveen Choudhary, District Development Officer Ms. Devahuti, Resident Additional Collector Shri R.S. Desai, DRDA Director Shri J.V. Desai, along with several other officials and a large number of attendees.
