Setu Trust and Blind Cricket Association Organize the Gujarat Blind Girls Cricket Team Selection Camp at Vallabh Vidyanagar


Vallabh Vidyanagar: A two-day Gujarat Blind Girls Cricket Team Selection Camp was successfully organized on 2nd  and 3rd  November 2025 by Setu Trust, Vallabh Vidyanagar, and the Blind Cricket Association, Gujarat, in collaboration with Sardar Patel University (SPU).

A total of 44 visually impaired girl players enthusiastically participated in the camp. The primary objective of this initiative was to select players for the Gujarat Blind Girls Cricket Team, which will represent the state at the upcoming National Tournament in Odisha.

The event became a celebration of strength, passion, and determination, as these courageous girls proved that vision is not limited to the eyes but experienced through the spirit.”

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Vishnubhai Thakkar (Trustee, Lambhvel Hanumanji Temple), Shri Pinalbhai Patel (Social Worker), Shri Amitbhai Patel, and Shri Kamleshbhai Patel.

The valedictory and certificate distribution ceremony was chaired by Dr. Niranjanbhai Patel (Vice-Chancellor, Sardar Patel University), with Smt. Riptyben Gupte (DYSP, Anand) as the Chief Guest. The event was also graced by Shri Parthbhai Patel (Krishna Resort, Vasad), Smt. Alka Patel (Narayan Developers), Smt. Meena Patel, Smt. Vinal Patel (Vinal Designer Studio, Anand), Smt. Anal Patel (daughter of Hon’ble MLA Shri Pankajbhai Desai, Nadiad), Shri Shahrukh Sheikh (Vice President – Blind Cricket Association, Gujarat), and Shri Nareshkumar Tumra (Joint Secretary – Blind Cricket Association, Gujarat).

The event was efficiently coordinated by Smt. Sudhaben Patel (Founder & General Secretary, Setu Trust), Shri Chirag Patel (Treasurer), and Shri Narendra Upadhyay (Joint Secretary), along with Trustees Smt. Radhaben Patel, Smt. Rakhiben Shah, Shri Kaushal Patel, Shri Jay Panseriya, Shri Vraj Patel, and Shri Vandan Kalathiya (Chairman, Setu Yuva Group). The students, staff, and volunteers of Setu Trust also extended wholehearted support, ensuring the program’s grand success.

This inspiring initiative stood as a symbol of confidence, empowerment, and equal opportunity for visually impaired girls, encouraging them to dream big and excel in sports.
