Hidden History Unearthed: Ancient Well Discovered During Road Widening in Anand


During the removal of the H.M. Patel statue on the Anand–Vallabh Vidyanagar Road as part of the Anand-Karamsad Municipal Corporation’s road widening project, workers uncovered an ancient well believed to be nearly a century old and about 50 feet deep.

The discovery, made during excavation work, has sparked widespread curiosity among locals and passersby. Residents recalled that the area was once agricultural land, suggesting that the well might have been constructed decades ago to meet water needs.

This unexpected find has drawn significant public attention, with many people visiting the site to catch a glimpse of this remarkable piece of local history.
