Karamsad: “The Sardar Sanman Sankalp Andolan Samiti”, Gujarat organized a grand celebration at Karamsad to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On this occasion, leaders from various communities and citizens conveyed a message of unity and brotherhood under the slogans “Hu Chhu Sardar” (I am Sardar) and “Sauna Sardar” (Sardar of All).
Floral tributes were offered to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Veer Vitthalbhai Patel, followed by a grand procession to Sardar Patel’s residence. Participants pledged to continue a peaceful movement, following Gandhiji’s ideals of non-violence, until Motera Stadium is renamed “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium” and Karamsad is declared a National Heritage Site.
Former Union Minister Shri Bharatsinh Solanki graced the occasion and extended his full support to the movement honoring Sardar Patel. Tributes were also paid to Bharat Ratna Smt. Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary.
Residents and farmers from Karamsad, Vidhyanagar, Bakrol, Mogri, and nearby villages protested against the inclusion of their villages into the Anand Municipal Corporation without consent, demanding protection of farmers’ rights and local autonomy.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from the Anand District Congress Committee, community leaders, and numerous followers of Sardar Patel.
