Near Anand Railway Station, the TP–1 open area under the control of the Municipal Corporation (Manpa) has been occupied by the Railway Department to set up an illegal parking stand. Last year, the nine-year token rent agreement between Manpa and the Railway had expired. Nevertheless, the Railway Department issued a tender and allocated the space to a contractor for the illegal parking stand, which led to a dispute. After the transition to the Municipal Corporation, Manpa has initiated steps to reclaim the said area.
It is noteworthy that several temporary and permanent shops near the Railway Station are also operating illegally, and Manpa is taking action to regain control over these spaces as well.
